About The Recycled Building Yard in Smithfield

Recycled Building yard specialises in buying and selling Recycled or second hand building materials. Over the past several years, there has been an ever-growing demand in the industry for several reasons. The first reason is recycled building materials can be a more cost efficient way of renovating your home. The second is people are becoming more aware of the impact we are having on the environment and are fast to use an alternative to land clearing the worlds forests, and finally the third reason is that the new building materials simply do not have the quality of the recycled or second hand materials.

A good example of this is recycled bricks versus new bricks. Used bricks also known as second hand and recycled are a far superior product due to the fact that the bricks have done all the growing/swelling they can do and weigh on average around 4 kilograms indicating that quality is present. With new bricks, they are mass produced out of less materials leaving the finished product porous, weak and an inferior product.

There is also the issue that big distributors only produce bricks while they are "in vogue" or in fashion, leaving renovators to try and source the bricks that have been discontinued.
